COP24 is vital to every country. This year has been a year of multiple disasters: hurricane Florence in the United States, heavy rain in India, typhoon Yutu in the Philippines, typhoon Mangkut in Hong Kong in China… These put climate change directly in front of everyone in a cruel way. The important thing is to find a way to solve this problem.
QYH is honored to have the opportunity to participate in the United Nations climate conference and speak at the Chinese panel, to talk about China’s series of achievements on the road of green development. And QYH is actively following the footsteps of other countries. It is hoped that through this conference, more people will learn about the national green development strategy, understand the “carbon neutrality” and participate in the global warming action.
While governments prepare to finalize guidelines for the implementation of the Paris agreement, other actors, in cooperation with governments, will present examples of breakthrough climate action to encourage the strengthening of national climate plans, known as nationally determined contributions.
COP24 is to achieve the goals of the Paris agreement by exploring new partnership and cooperation and to promote better cooperation between governments and other actors. The aim of these activities is to build a new kind of inclusive multilateralism that involves all people in tackling the climate crisis.
Although carbon sink trading is no stranger to the world and China’s carbon sink market is also booming, its development process is slow and participation is not high. As the world’s largest carbon sink exporter, the future of China’s forestry carbon sink market and the direction that national policies will lead the carbon sink trade are crucial for enterprises committed to reducing carbon footprint and improving global warming.
The secretary-general of the World Meteorological Organization said, “We are the first generation to fully understand climate change and the last generation to be able to do something about it.” The UN climate conference will have a new decision on climate action. The fight against global warming should be taken seriously by every country and people.
